Setting Up Your Project

  1. Setup SMS Gateway for Project.  An SMS gateway is the phone number that will be used to send SMSs for your project.  Different countries have different gateways that are used. 
  2. Set Time Zone for Project: Since many reminders are sent at a specific time, its important to specify the time zone for your project.

Registering Contacts

There are a number of ways to setup contacts for CommConnect. 

  1. Bulk Registration of Contacts - This can be used to register a number of contacts using Excel. 
  2. Self Registration - This allows contacts to register for the system on their own. 
  3. Registering an Individual Contact - This allows project staff to register contacts using SMS, a phone or web data entry (CloudCare)
  4. Configure a Mobile Worker for CommConnect - Mobile workers need to be verified before they can send in messages to the system.

CommConnect Data and Reports

CommConnect provides a set of reports and tools to manage your project.

  1. Overview Report: This provides an overall view of the SMS activity of your project, including message breakdowns by type (keyword, reminders, etc.) and by user type (case, mobile worker).  
  2. User Summary Report: This provides a summary of the SMS users for your project, including the average messages per user and the number of active users. 
  3. CommConnect Data: Information on exporting CommConnect data and viewing message logs.
